Philip Pollecoff
Expertise
Philip is the founder of Pollecoff Solicitors. He specialises
in family law and is an advanced
member of the Law Society Family Law Panel and a member of
Resolution. He favours a personal and practical approach,
always taking his clients' objectives into account.
He has experience of acting for many city workers including
investment bankers, brokers, directors, accountants and lawyers
and has worked on many complex financial cases. As a former
company secretary he has a good understanding of most businesses.
Philip also understands that most families have limited resources
and looks for cost effective solutions. In one case where
very expensive injunctive proceedings were proposed by a barrister,
Philip solved the problem without any expense by making the
board pass a resolution to change the bank mandate by adding
another signatory.
Philip has a good knowledge of conveyancing which is particularly
useful when so many family assets are property based. Philip
has used his business sense in the past year to accurately
predict and advise clients who are dividing assets regarding
the fall in the property market.
Philip regularly instructs Chancery Counsel to advise on
trust and tax issues that arise in a number of family disputes.
Philip has developed expertise in disputes regarding wills
and is regularly receiving instructions from the Official
Solicitor regarding family related work in particular cases
under The Inheritance (Provision for Family Dependents) Act
1975. Philip is also as a collaborative
lawyer. Philip is a trustee of the Minster
Centre, an established charity and training institute
offering Diploma and MA programmes He is chair of the Poetry
School that teaches the art of writing poetry.
Philip is married to Elaine and they have a teenage son Marco.
Philip's interests outside work include supporting Liverpool
FC, which he describes as a journey of elation and heartbreak,
reading modern poetry and going to the occasional rock concert.
