Probate

We offer expertise in dealing with all legal matters concerning the issue of a grant of probate and the collection and distribution of the estate.

We also deal with the following matters:

• severances of joint tenancies
• transfers of equity
• general powers of attorney
• lasting powers of attorney
• registering enduring powers of attorney
• court of protection applications and name changes
• low cost annual trust accounts.

Contested Probate

We are specialist in Inheritance Act 75 claims Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

We are instructed by the Official Solicitor in a number of these cases. Accordingly we have greater experience than many family lawyers of these claims and can deal with them efficiently and cost effectively. These claims arise when the Will has not made adequate provision for a dependant. Often it is a child, spouse or disabled adult who has been left without reasonable financial provision and the Inheritance Act 75 Act allows such dependants to make a claim against the Estate for such provision.
